Hey there! I’m Malorie. I’m a fourth-year design student and will be graduating this year! I come from a small town north-east of Edmonton and love anything outdoors and spending time with friends and family. After graduation, I hope to be working in the UX/UI field, specifically in web design.
Community Lead
Hi! As DSO’s community lead I work to help create engagement with the design student body by coordinating events such as Lemon-AID live! As part of a great team, I’m excited to see where this year takes us 🙂
At the moment, my favourite things include a very specific shade of pink and my cow print pillow from IKEA. On occasion I like to watercolour paint and practice my hand lettering. Design-wise my interests include typography, visual identity design, publication design and packaging design. I’m hoping to meet more of you during the winter semester!
Photographer/Videographer
What’s good! It’s your girl, Yasmin, aka Yas, aka Dalgona, aka JuggyNuggy, aka Raven (from Teen Titans) coming at you with the pictures and the videos. Here’s to hoping I can be of service to you all this upcoming year.
I mostly use photography as my medium of design and I absolutely love doing fashion & beauty editorial shoots and I enjoy editorial publication design and I hope to one day find a career in the future where I do fashion &/or beauty editorial photography.
My off days mostly consist of me rewatching Sailor Moon and editing photos. If you see a girl dressed in all black with a dash of purple in their hair, that’s me! Don’t be afraid to say hi (physically or digitally).

Social Media Director
What’s good, I’m John! As Social Media Director, I oversee and manage all of the DSO’s social media accounts. This is my third year as the Social Media Director, so I hope I’m able to spice things up with my social media experience despite the current climate. My design interests fall in the realm of visual communication (wow) with branding, social media design, posters, art direction, all that fun stuff. I also have roots in photography and video, which both play a tremendous role in my design choices today. I’m ambitious in starting my own creative (not just design) studio one day, or even go down the design research route with grad school due to my interests in sociology. But who knows? I might just make design my day job and become a DJ lol. Feel free to hit me up with design, photo/video, or even life related questions!

Hey there! I’m Quinton, your other fellow co-president for this year! Really looking forward to interacting and engaging with all of y’all as much as possible. My personal design interests are ever-evolving, but at this current point in time branding and UI/UX are two areas of focus I am thoroughly wanting to explore and hone.
My goal is to work for a studio or company that works internationally on meaningful projects that can really make a difference. Besides design things, I love consuming food and matcha, enjoy zen inducing things, and still love playing hockey. I’m sure by the time you even read this my ambitions may shift, but it’s just because I’m so excited to explore so many fields and things in life.
